Why Elements Is One Of NZ’s Best-Value Pergola Options:
Elements is not an aluminium pergola. It is a premium-look steel pergola made using galvanised steel with a zinc–aluminium–magnesium alloy coating, often referred to as ZAM-coated steel.
In normal-people terms: it’s steel, with a seriously good protective coating.
That means you get a strong, solid-feeling pergola with a sleek modern profile, adjustable louvre roof, rainwater gutter system and a 5-year warranty, all at a price that makes serious sense.
The 3m x 4m size is ideal if you want more usable outdoor space than the standard 3m x 3m footprint, while still keeping things clean, practical and great value.
If you are comparing pergolas in NZ and want the best mix of value, looks, size and durability, Elements is built to be a smarter alternative to expensive aluminium pergolas.
Affordable, premium, built for NZ... that’s the Container Door way.
What Is ZAM-Coated Galvanised Steel?
ZAM-coated galvanised steel is steel coated with an alloy of zinc, aluminium and magnesium. It is not aluminium.
This advanced coating is designed to improve long-term corrosion resistance compared with standard galvanised steel, while keeping the strength and solid feel of steel.
ZAM-coated steel is commonly used in outdoor structures, carports, canopies, solar structures and industrial applications because it offers a strong, durable base material with a protective coating that is made to work hard.
Basically, it’s tough, tidy, and not here to blow away in a hurry.

Care Instructions:
With a little regular care, your Elements Pergola will keep its sharp, modern look for years.
Rinse the frame with fresh water to remove salt, dust and grime. In coastal areas, clean more often. Salt air is not your pergola’s best mate.
If surface spots appear from rain, pollen, limescale or mineral deposits, gently clean with a mild detergent solution.
ZAM coating is self-protecting to a degree, meaning small scratches can often protect themselves over time. For deeper chips, apply a small amount of galvanised touch-up paint to help maintain long-term protection.
Look after it, and it’ll look after your backyard.
Warranty Exclusions:
This structure is a non-permanent structure. The warranty does not cover fading or damage caused by extreme weather exposure, including heavy rain, strong winds, high heat from BBQs or heaters, or significant weather events. Sadly, we do not yet control the weather.
The warranty also does not cover damage caused by negligence, accident, misuse or incorrect installation. Please follow the instruction manual carefully, as damage caused by not following the instructions may void your warranty.
Warranty covers domestic use only and does not apply to commercial use. However, we will always do our best to help with any issues or replacement parts.
Additional Building Information:
In some cases, a building or resource consent may be needed. Local councils may have specific requirements or restrictions, especially for larger pergolas, structures over 20 square metres, or installations close to load-bearing walls.
We recommend checking with your local council before installation if you are unsure. Boring? Yes. Important? Also yes.
