Minimum Threshold Promise

We know it’s disappointing when a deal does not make it to a full container load so if there’s any way we can combine several orders into one container to make the deal happen, rest assured, we will do it!

Give your tomatoes the sort of accommodation they have done absolutely nothing to deserve. This 3m x 2.3m Alaska Glasshouse combines a sleek black aluminium frame with crystal-clear 4mm toughened safety glass, creating a bright, premium-looking space for seedlings, vegetables, flowers and prized plant collections. Compared with plastic or polycarbonate-panel greenhouses, the clear glass gives it a sharper, more architectural look that feels less like a growing tent and more like a proper garden room.

Galvanised steel lower panels protect the most vulnerable part of the glasshouse from soil splashback, everyday knocks and the occasional stone fired off by an overenthusiastic lawnmower. Add a potting bench and shelving for serious growing, or sneak in a chair for suspiciously long “plant checks” when the house gets too manic. Either way, it will look pretty dang good in the backyard.

Choosing a Location
Choose a sunny, sheltered spot protected by your home, a solid fence, hedge or established planting. The Alaska is designed for hobby gardening in residential backyards and is not suitable for highly exposed, severe coastal or extreme-wind locations. Avoid wind tunnels and open hilltops where possible... New Zealand weather does enjoy making an entrance.

Foundation Requirements
Install the glasshouse on a flat, level and substantial foundation capable of supporting the full weight of the frame and glass. A concrete slab slightly larger than the footprint is our preferred option, although a solid, properly built and securely anchored timber base may also be suitable. Grass, loose soil and uneven pavers are not recommended.

Assembly & Installation
The Alaska is supplied as a kitset and requires capable people, suitable tools and careful assembly. Follow the supplied instructions, use all braces, clips and fixings, and securely anchor the frame to the foundation. For improved watertightness and reduced glass rattling, we recommend a suitable exterior glazing tape or compatible silicone sealant (not included). No freestyle engineering, thanks.

Warranty:
The warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects under our full warranty terms and applicable New Zealand consumer law. It does not cover damage caused by extreme weather, unsuitable or exposed placement, an inadequate foundation, incorrect assembly or anchoring, modifications, impact damage, normal weathering or poor maintenance. In other words, build it properly, put it somewhere sensible and do not let the lawnmower use it for target practice.

Delivery information
All Alaska Glasshouses are delivered via driveway drop-off, so please ensure there is clear access for a large delivery vehicle. Drivers cannot move the packages beyond the driveway. Check your order on arrival and let us know promptly if anything appears damaged or missing. For steep, narrow or restricted-access properties, contact us before ordering so delivery does not become an unexpected three-point-turn competition.

Common Q's:

Is glass better than polycarbonate?
Glass offers a clearer, more premium look than PVC or polycarbonate panels and makes the glasshouse feel more like a proper garden room. It is heavier and still needs to be handled carefully.

Is it suitable for high-wind areas?
No. The Alaska is designed for sheltered residential gardens and does not have a certified wind rating. Avoid highly exposed, severe coastal or extreme-wind locations.

Is it completely watertight?
No kitset glasshouse is completely sealed. Exterior glazing tape or compatible silicone can improve watertightness and reduce rattling, but some water may enter during wind-driven rain.

Can I assemble it myself?
Yes, it is designed for DIY assembly, but it includes heavy glass and requires several capable people, suitable tools and careful attention to the instructions. This is not the day to test the strength of your relationship.
